01The agreement
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you (or the institution you represent) and SciVue, a scientific illustrations and life sciences analytics platform operated by PrecisionRx. By creating an account, generating a figure, or running an analysis, you accept these Terms.
If you accept on behalf of a university, hospital, or company, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation. Institutional agreements signed with us override any conflicting clause here.
02Accounts and eligibility
- You must be 16 or older and provide accurate registration details, including faculty and country where requested.
- You are responsible for the security of your credentials and API keys, and for all activity under your account.
- Shared or seat-pooled logins are not permitted; each researcher needs their own account under team plans.
- Tell us immediately at security@scivue.live if you suspect unauthorised access.
03Tokens, plans, and billing
Platform usage is metered in tokens. Every tool shows its token cost before you confirm a run, and free-tier tools consume zero tokens. Plan allowances and top-up bundles are described on the pricing page, which is incorporated into these Terms.
- Plan tokens reset each billing period and do not roll over; purchased top-up tokens do not expire while your account is active.
- Tokens are consumed when a job completes. Jobs that fail because of a platform error are not charged, and any deduction is reversed automatically.
- Subscriptions renew until cancelled. Cancel any time; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- Refunds: contact us within 14 days of payment and we will refund unused tokens on that payment.
- Tokens have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and cannot be resold.
04Your content and figure ownership
You keep all rights to the data, sequences, images, prompts, and manuscripts you upload ("Your Content"), and you own the figures, diagrams, plots, and analyses you generate with the platform. You may publish them in journals, theses, posters, grants, and commercial materials without paying us royalties.
You grant us a limited licence to host, process, render, and back up Your Content solely to operate the service and support you. We do not train models on Your Content unless you opt in per figure.
- Assets from our library (icons, vectors, templates, infographics) are licensed to you for unlimited academic and commercial use inside your own figures.
- You may not resell, redistribute, or sublicense library assets as standalone artwork, stock packs, or competing asset libraries.
- Third-party sources you pull in — public databases such as KEGG, Reactome, UniProt, PDB, or externally sourced SVG artwork — remain under their own licences and attribution rules.
- You are responsible for confirming that figures accurately represent your underlying data before publication.
05Acceptable use
The platform exists for lawful scientific work. You agree not to:
- Fabricate, falsify, splice, or otherwise manipulate experimental images or data in a way that misrepresents results.
- Upload identifiable patient data without a lawful basis, consent, and any required ethics approval.
- Generate content that supports weapons of mass destruction, illegal synthesis, self-harm, CSAM, or harassment.
- Attempt prompt injection, model extraction, scraping, credential stuffing, or circumvention of token metering.
- Reverse engineer the platform, or use it to build a competing illustration or analytics library.
- Exceed fair-use limits on shared infrastructure, or run automated load that degrades service for others.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section, and we cooperate with institutions and publishers investigating research-integrity concerns.
06AI-generated output
Illustrations, legends, critiques, and summaries produced by AI models are drafts. They can contain scientific inaccuracies, and identical prompts may produce similar output for different users, so no exclusivity is guaranteed over an AI-generated composition.
You are the author of record: verify every label, unit, scale bar, pathway direction, and statistical claim before submission. Disclose AI assistance where your journal or institution requires it.
07Availability, changes, and support
- We target high availability but do not promise uninterrupted service; maintenance and provider incidents happen.
- When a compute or AI provider is unavailable, jobs may automatically route to an alternative model of equivalent or better capability.
- Features may be added, changed, or retired. We give at least 30 days' notice before removing a feature you actively use.
- Support runs through in-app contact, email, and WhatsApp during business hours; enterprise agreements may add response targets.
08Suspension and termination
You may delete your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend accounts for non-payment, security risk, or breach of the acceptable-use section, with notice where lawful and practical.
After termination you have 30 days to export your work. We then delete personal data per the Privacy Policy, with backups cycling out within 90 days.
09Disclaimers and liability
The platform is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. SciVue is a research and publication tool: it is not a medical device and must not be used for diagnosis or treatment decisions.
Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost grants, retracted publications, or lost data where you did not maintain your own copies.
10Governing law and updates
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the competent courts of Cairo, unless a signed institutional agreement states otherwise.
We may update these Terms. Material changes are announced in-app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect; continued use afterwards means acceptance. Superseded versions are available on request.
